Wilfredo Nuñez

Born on September 18, 1979 to Carlos and Amada Nuñez at Kings County Hospital in New York City. As a young boy, my father introduced me to a wonderful instrument; the guitar. I had not received any professional lessons and at the age of six I found myself choosing to play and practice the guitar with my dad rather than playing with toys. My first ‘gig’ was at the age of eight. I played a ‘cuatro’ with my father at a small Pentecostal church in Puerto Rico.

At the age of 15, I began getting much more active in my practice and playing. My interest level in learning more about the guitar was greatly increasing. I began listening and watching other guitarists such as Wes Montgomery and George Benson. I also began playing regularly at Mizpa Christian Church in Brooklyn, NY. Throughout the years, I was part of many several music groups such as: ‘Divina Luz’, U.B.G., AIC Choir and finally All In Christ.

I was growing tremendously for the honor and glory of God. I began attending Elohim Christian Church and was the guitarist for their great music department. I played for the CD and Concert of Darius Hicks “The Flute Man”. I also played for the CD release concert of DTH at Christ Tabernacle and Six Flags Great Adventure. As I continue on with music, I am also trying to introduce it to my 3 year old daughter, who owns her very own violin since the age of 1. She chooses to watch me practice rather than watch her favorite television program and her interest in music at such a young age is amazing.

As I continue growing in my music I will always and forever continue giving the Lord my God all of the honor and glory for all that he has blessed me with.
